Tuesday- Kendal to Sanquhar- 120 miles

Well after my 4 punctures on Monday evening which delayed us by at least 2 hours I had another puncture when I in the morning- without even riding the thing!
So we didn’t leave Kendal until 10am a needed a bike shop to change the rim tape as he couldn’t see anything else.  We then set off and within 1 hour I got 2 more punctures!! This weird voodoo stuff was now getting to me so I had no choice but to get a taxi (only 7 miles luckily) and bought a whole new wheel and tyre for £100!! Phil cycled to meet me and don’t worry I’ll of course make the miles up before you start having a go!
The rest of Tuesday went well and we got to our hotel in Sanquhar at about 9pm.
Wednesday (Today) – Sanquhar to Inverary- 110miles
Today went a lot more smoothly and we pedalled our way through some amazing countryside across Dunoon where we hopped on the 15 min car ferry across to Sandbank (not cheating- it was part of the route).
From there we cycled through Argyll forest park and along Loch Eck which again was stunning.
Riding out from the forest we could see Inverary, our stop for the night, about a mile away across Loch Fyne. There was just one problem- we had to cycle 2 hours around the entire Loch to blooming get there!!
Anyway we’re here now- and a hot shower and a cold bath later I’m not feeling too bad. The aches actually remind me of my dance school days.
Off for dinner now- Inverary to Invergary tomorrow towards Loch Ness.
Just 3 more days to go!!!
Pictures will follow.
